The 100th episode of The Vampire Diaries presents Katherine on her death bed !
When The Vampire Diaries returns Jan. 23, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and company will be raising a glass to the soon-to-be-late, great Katherine Pierce (Nina Dobrev) on the show’s unforgettable 100th episode — and now, we have our first look at the milestone memorial.
The pictures reveal the whole gang getting together — yes, even Matt (Zach Roerig), who’s practically been in hiding all season — at the Salvatore Mansion for a good ol’ fashion memorial. And as you’d expect from a Katherine send-off, there isn’t a wet eye in the house.
Even Katherine’s daughter Nadia (Olga Fonda) looks beautiful and happy, though given their complicated history, I’m sure we can expect at least one gut-wrenching, emotional scene between the estranged mother-daughter duo.
‘Vampire Diaries’ Episode 100: Katherine’s On Her ‘Death Bed’
Her death has already been confirmed by the powers-that-be. Executive producer Caroline Dries recently chatted with HollywoodLife.com‘s sister site TVLine about Katherine’s potential future with Stefan (Paul Wesley), and had this to say:
”The 100th episode is Katherine on her death bed. She doesn’t have a huge fanbase at the Salvatore house where she is, so Stefan is the person who’s there for her. But when you’re dying, romance isn’t exactly on the front burner.”
So, Katherine is finally saying goodbye to The Vampire Diaries – but at least she’ll get a heck of a send-off!
